The Brevard Zoo located in Melbourne Florida is a 75 acres not-for-profit facility and is home to more than 900 animals representing more than 195 species from Florida, South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Even though this Zoo is only a stones throw away, we realized we had never gone. So this past weekend we hit the road, threw some sunscreen on and headed to the Zoo. Spring seemed so short this year as it felt like Summer was already moving in, made it’s bed and adjusted the thermostat to 90. Getting outside to shoot is always my favorite part of the trips we take. We all loved the aviary where you can feed the birds nectar from a little cup. We played a game to see who could get a bird to hope on us and drink from our arm or finger. We (like most people) enjoyed feeding the giraffes up close and personal. The fact this zoo is a not-for-profit really helped to make our decision to visit as we no longer feel conferrable visiting events or venues that profit from the captivity of animals. Here are some of the best images from our trip , we hope you enjoy viewing them as much as we enjoyed taking them.
