The Brevard Zoo located in Melbourne Florida is a 75 acres not-for-profit facility and is home to more than 900 animals representing more than 195 species from Florida, South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Even though this Zoo is only a stones throw away, we realized we had never gone. So this past weekend we hit the road, threw some sunscreen on and headed to the Zoo. Spring seemed so short this year as it felt like Summer was already moving in, made it’s bed and adjusted the thermostat to 90. Getting outside to shoot is always my favorite part of the trips we take. We all loved the aviary where you can feed the birds nectar from a little cup. We played a game to see who could get a bird to hope on us and drink from our arm or finger. We (like most people) enjoyed feeding the giraffes up close and personal. The fact this zoo is a not-for-profit really helped to make our decision to visit as we no longer feel conferrable visiting events or venues that profit from the captivity of animals. Here are some of the best images from our trip , we hope you enjoy viewing them as much as we enjoyed taking them.
Day of Pride
Yesterday was the 11th Annual Space Coast Pride Festival & Parade. Attending a festival or parade is such a great way to experience a culture and way of life. We support and believe strongly in equality and we're very happy to share the uplifting and inspiring experience.
A Slice of Local
We have always enjoyed our visits to the Historic District of Cocoa Village. It truly has a bit of something for everyone no matter what your looking for. Home to the most local shops in the Space Coast, Historic Cocoa Village is the best place to find local gems. From the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse to the spotlight of this post, Ossorio Bakery & Cafe. Placed conveniently in the heart of the village, It's one of the best local spots to grab a warm coffee or a cold sweet tea. It offers a quick to-go checkout style bar or enjoy the french inspired decor, it’s a warm experience the represents space coast. We from time to time will enjoy a delicious brunch on the weekend or a salad to go. With also fresh french pastries, coffee, flatbread pizzas & handmade ice cream it really gives you little reason to not stop by for a treat.
A BOLD CUP OF COFFEE
Cup after cup, brew after brew, sometimes you just get that caffeine style urge to grab the coffee tree and shake things up.
Wait, coffee comes from trees right google?
No it comes from a scrub, well a scrub is just a tiny tree to me google.
Home brewing coffee has been our go to move due to convenience and it’s just so cost effective. Lately we have both been feeling the urge to explore new options and experiences. It turn over maybe not every leaf, but as many as we can. So sitting down one day we decide to “up our game” and what better place it start in the morning? And as the saying goes, But first, Coffee.
